Education in Pakistan – A Malady or a Remedy? An Analysis of Systemic Challenges and Opportunities

Abstract

 Education is often hailed as the cornerstone of national development. In Pakistan, however, it reflects a paradox—while it holds the potential to elevate individuals and society, it is mired in corruption, systemic inefficiencies, and exclusion. This paper explores whether education in Pakistan serves as a remedy or a malady, analyzing structural corruption, policy failure, gender disparities, digital transformation challenges, and teacher training deficiencies. Drawing on recent research and national statistics, this study identifies critical gaps and offers a roadmap toward meaningful educational reform.
